    Switch side debate states that the affirmative should “affirm” the resolution while the negative should refute it.  Pretty simple stuff.  It’s usually run against affirmatives that indict the resolution but I’ve also seen it run as theory against topical counterplans.

    The best way to answer it is that the majority of authors that they read are debate coaches.  Specifically: debate coaches pissed off that their debaters keep losing to Towson/Louisville/Long Beach/Fullterton etc.
